VISITOR VISA

Canada welcomes millions of temporary residents every year. Visitors need proper authorization such as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter Canada.

Who Needs a Visitor Visa?

  • Tourists
  • Temporary foreign workers
  • International students
  • Business visitors

What is eTA?

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is required for visa-exempt travelers entering Canada by air. It is linked to your passport and valid for up to 5 years.

What is TRV?

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is issued by a Canadian visa office. It allows entry into Canada for a temporary stay, usually up to 6 months.

Important Information

Having a valid visa does not guarantee entry. Visitors must prove their stay is temporary and that they will leave Canada before their visa expires.
